On Wednesday 21st June Walsall Karate Dojo were honoured to host a course with JKS Headquarters instructor Shohei Toyama from Tokyo.
It turned out to be the hottest day of the year and the atmosphere in the dojo, as well as the weather, was red hot!.
Sensei taught two one and a half hour courses, one for all grades and one for brown and black belts only. The feedback from the course has been superb and Toyama Sensei proved very inspirational, demonstrating the purity of his technique, speed in his execution which, as with all Headquarters instructors that visit was put across in a very humble way.
We are so lucky at Walsall Karate Dojo to be part of the JKS organisation with access to such instructors. Many thanks go to Toyama Sensei for delivering an awesome course and to Alan Cambell, Head of JKS England and Wales, for the opportunity to host such an event.
Toyama Sensei is representing Japan in the WKF Asian Championships next month in -60KG Kumite category. He is already a two time Premier League silver medalist and is looking to add an international medal in this tournament. We wish him all the best.
