Two Gold and Two Silver at the EKF Nationals
On 14th and 15th April 2018, ten Walsall Karate Dojo students headed off to Leicester Arena to compete for JKS England at the English Karate Federation National Championships. The Walsall contingent of the JKS England team consisted of Tanya Barratt, Lewis Bradbury, Sharif Ebrahami, Thomas Elmore, Emily Harper, Callum Hulse, Kris Orthodoxou, Ean Pabinguit, Johann Santos, Amelia Stanley.
For Thomas, Emily, Callum, Kris and Ean it was the first time they had competed at this level and all acquitted themselves well in what is the premier level English karate championships. As a team JKS England finished a fantastic fifth in the medal table out of 58 teams that entered.
Our guys came away with 1 Gold and 2 Gold and 2 Silver medals.
A special mention must go to Johann Santos on becoming English U21 Kata Champion after 2 years of being English Junior (16-17) Champion. Three years of being English Kata Champion is a fantastic acheivement and testament to his quality on the tatami. Well done Johann!
