Arimoto Sensei visits Walsall

On Wednesday 2nd November Walsall Karate Dojo were honoured to host a course with former WKF World Team Kata Champion and current JKS All-Japan and World Kata Champion Koji Arimoto from the JKS Headquarters in Tokyo.

The event was the end of a three week teaching tour of Ireland, Scotland and England.

Arimoto Sensei taught two one and a half hour courses, one for all grades and one for brown and black belts only (Headline picture). The event was a sell out with forty participants in each class. The feedback from the course has been superb.

The first session was a master class in Kihon followed by Heian 1-3 katas. The second session starting with more Kihon followed by an in depth study of katas Enpi and Kankusho.

Close up in a dojo environment allowed us to see the pure power generated and the total control of Arimotos karate. Yet again its a testament to the karate being produced in the JKS Headquarters under the leadership of Masao Kagawa Shihan.
