March Course and Kyu Grading
The weekend of 19th and 20th Mark saw Walsall Karate Dojo host Alistair Mitchell Sensei, 7th Dan.
Alistair had a competition career spanning 30 years and included numerous world titles including being the WKF World Team champion in 1986 when Great Britain ruled the sport karate world. He has spent extended periods training in Japan and is a highly respected instructor.
On the Saturday Sensei taught a two hour kumite session to our dedicated squad members. On the Sunday Sensei taught 3 courses, Beginners to 8th Kyu, 7th Kyu to 2nd Kyu and 1st Kyu to Dan grades with nearly 100 attendees. The feedback from weekend has been superb and we would like to thank Alistair Sensei for visiting Walsall Karate Dojo and to everyone who turned up to train, especially the four visitors we had other JKS dojos.
There was also a kyu grading with Steven Carless Sensei at the conclusion of the first two courses. Congratulations to all Walsall Karate students who were successful. Finally, a big thank you to Mark Turner and Paul Stanley for their help during the kyu grading plus everyone else who helped on the day.
