March Course and Kyu Grading
On Sunday 17th March Walsall Karate Dojo welcomed back the ever popular and very experienced Alistair Mitchell Sensei 7th Dan. Alistair had a competition career spanning 30 years and included numerous world titles including being the WKF World Team champion in 1986 when Great Britain ruled the sport karate world. He has spent extended periods training in Japan and is a highly respected instructor.
Alistair delivered four superb courses at the dojo, Junior beginners, Senior beginners to 8th Kyu, 7th Kyu to 2nd Kyu and 1st Kyu to Dan grades. We had a record attendance for the event with one hundred and forty-two students attending over the course of the day. This was in spite of many of our elite squad members away competing in Essex on the same day. The feedback from all participants has been extremely positive. A special thank you all attendees including visitors from Wolverhampton, Loughborough, Grantham and Grimsby who travelled to train on the course. We thank Alistair Sensei for taking the time to visit us again in Walsall.
There was also a kyu grading with Steven Carless Sensei 6th Dan JKS at the conclusion of the first two courses. Congratulations to the one hundred and three students who were successful. This was the best grading level we have ever seen so that was particularly pleasing.
Yet again another fabulous day at the dojo.
