Walsall Members Make 2016 JKS England Squad & World Championships
On Sunday 10th January seven of our squad members were selected to be part of the 2016 JKS England squad following selections in Leeds. They were trained and then tested by squad coaches Matt Price and Nick Heald and six were subsequently selected for the squad. Being a part of the squad is the stepping stone to team selection for national and international JKS and WKF events. Well done to
- Amber Bannister (Junior Kumite, Kata)
- Lewis Bradbury (Senior Kumite, Kata)
- Sydney McAleenan-Marks (Junior Kumite)
- Johann Santos (Kata)
- Millie Stanley (Junior Kumite, Kata)
- Tanya Handley (Senior Kumite)
On top of this it was also announced that nineteen JKS England squad members had been pre-selected to compete at the next JKS World Championships to be held in Edinburgh in 2016. The selection has been based on 2015 Gold medal performances with the JKS England squad. We are extremely proud that three are from Walsall Karate Dojo. Congratulations to Amber, Lewis and Johann.
