Medal Success at the JKS Northern Novice
On Sunday 22nd May we had sixteen members travel to Harrogate, North Yorkshire for the JKS England Northern Novice Championships.
They are members of the Dojo with little or no competitive experience who put themselves forward to experience competitive karate. We are looking for new members of the squad and some of these members will now be invited to join the squad in the next couple of weeks as a result of their efforts. Here are the competitors who were part of the team:
Rachael Burke, James Burte-Carty, Victor Fedorov, Adam Gallimore, Nicholas Garland, Khadija Kamran, Suleyman Kamran, Tyler Lockley-Ward, Daniel Maghadam, Norah Nabil, Chris Pearson, Jimi Waite, Shevin Walisinghe Silva, Sam Wall, Ryan Waterfield, Joshua Wilson.
The performances of every single team member were superb whether they medalled or not. Nobody let themselves down and we saw many personal best performances as well as a huge amount of potential. The camaraderie was superb.
As ever, thank you to all family members and friends who went along to support the team and a big thank you to Paul Stanley, Millie Stanley, Anthony Wilkes, Bella Wilkes and Emily Harper for coaching on the day.
Overall we finished with a very credible 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 8 Bronze medals. Congratulations to all medalists:
